No SOP violation during chariot journey, say cops

POLICE have described as incorrect the caption of a viral video on social media claiming that there was a violation of the standard operating procedure during the chariot journey in conjunction with the Thaipusam celebration early yesterday morning.

Dang Wangi district police chief ACP Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said instead, the video which was recorded at 3am at the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in Jalan Tun H.S. Lee, showed the police personnel helping out to expedite the chariot’s movement as requested by the organiser. Effective July 2018, access to full reports will only be available with a subscription.
