PUTRAJAYA: Political parties will not be allowed to receive contributions from government-linked firms, including companies bidding for government projects and permit approvals.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said this was among the provisions being considered for the Political Funding Bill which would be tabled in Parliament in October."The idea of having a law to regulate political contribution is to ensure transparency and accountability of political parties.

Also being proposed is not to allow political parties to accept donations from foreign governments or foreign non-governmental organisations.
