PETALING JAYA: Police are refuting claims that a bank robbery had occurred in SS2/60, which apparently led to a victim being injured.

"On July 23, the police received a call at 10.15pm stating that red marks, believed to be blood stains, were found in an ATM room of a CIMB Bank on Jalan SS2/60.

"A police team dispatched to the scene confirmed there were multiple red marks but no witnesses saw any signs of criminal activity in the area," said Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal in a statement on Friday ."A man, aged between 60 and 70, had entered the bank to make a transaction. When he left, some blood from his right leg was seen.

"It is believed that the man had been injured before entering the bank. As such, the police deny there was a bank robbery. The police also advised the public to not spread false news on social media that can lead to confusion," he said. Earlier on Friday , a post on social media highlighted what seemed to be blood spots on the floor of an ATM room.Article type: metered
