MIRI: Two men who rammed a police roadblock and hurled obscenities at police personnel have been arrested in Batu Niah district, 120km south of here.

Five other men and two women were arrested too, after they defied police order not to move about publicly during the 7pm to 7am movement control order time limit."The nine arrested included two foreigners.

They had refused to abide by the patrolling police units' directives on the movement control order."They also shouted obscenities at the police officers," he told reporters here Thursday via a text message.ACP Lim said police are stepping up their efforts to make sure full compliance of law and order during this period.
