Persatuan Aspirasi Rakyat Sarawak yang mempersoalkan takrif perkataan “wilayah” yang digunakan itu berkata, ahli Parlimen kedua-dua negeri itu hendaklah memastikan pindaan tersebut difikirkan dan dibahaskan dengan teliti di Parlimen.“Jangan fikir ‘wilayah’ adalah lebih besar daripada ‘negeri’.“Wilayah Persekutuan mungkin mempunyai beberapa kerusi Parlimen, tetapi mereka tidak mempunyai autonomi dan dikawal sepenuhnya oleh persekutuan,” katanya pada satu sidang media di sini, semalam.
“Kita lebih rela menolak pindaan itu daripada membenarkannya membekukan kedudukan kita dalam persekutuan Malaysia.”
