Larangan terhadap mana-mana individu yang lahir selepas 2008 membeli rokok atau produk tembakau seumur hidup mereka

WELLINGTON: New Zealand akan melarang penjualan tembakau dalam usaha menjadikan negara itu bebas daripada asap rokok.

Menteri Kesihatan, Dr. Ayesha berkata, pihak kerajaan bertekad untuk memastikan golongan muda tidak pernah merokok. Pengumuman itu disambut baik oleh golongan doktor dan pakar kesihatan lain di negara ini yang berharap pembaharuan ‘terkemuka dunia’ itu akan mengurangkan akses tembakau dan menyekat paras nikotin dalam rokok.

New Zealand berazam mencapai matlamat nasional untuk mengurangkan kadar merokok nasional kepada lima peratus menjelang 2025, dengan sasaran menghapuskan rokok secara langsung.
