New Indonesian domestic helpers begin arriving July 1, says minister

Human Resources Minister M. Saravanan says newly hired domestic helpers from Indonesia began arriving in Malaysia on July 1. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, July 9, 2022.

“The majority of employers prefer Indonesian domestic helpers. Some have been brought in but in terms of the number of workers, it needs to be checked with the Home Ministry because the Ministry of Human Resources only processes documents,” he said. Meanwhile, he said his ministry would present a proposal to the cabinet, related to a memorandum of understanding to work with Cambodia for the purpose of bringing domestic workers from that country.
