Malaysia's first Green Real Estate Platinum-certified school is set to open in January 2023.

Sunway Education Group chief executive officer Prof Elizabeth Lee said the new seven-acre Sunway International School Kuala Lumpur campus meets the green certification requirements in a tropical setting set out by the Malaysian-developed building rating tool.

At the preview, High Commission of Canada in Malaysia acting senior trade commissioner Thomas Abols said this is the only school in Malaysia licensed by the Ministry of Education Ontario, Canada, to offer credits leading up to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma .SIS executive director Dr Cheng Mien Wee said the new campus will now see primary pupils joining its student body.

She also said the semester-based programmes, which focus on four subjects per semester, allow for longer contact hours between teachers and students.The new campus will conduct programmes for Primary School , Middle School and High School according to the Canadian curriculum, and Pre-University according to International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme .
