IPOH: Investigation into the case where a helicopter was used to pick up nasi ganja here last year is still ongoing, says Comm Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid.

The Perak police chief said they have submitted the investigation papers to the deputy public prosecutor's office and were waiting for a decision.

Comm Mior Faridalathrash said the papers have been submitted several times but required further investigations."The case is not closed yet," he said in a press conference after a dialogue with heads of non-Islam religious groups at the police air unit training base here on Tuesday .

Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission chairman Sidek Hassan had earlier this month reportedly said that “easy cases” should be resolved quickly by the authorities or risk seeing their credibility being eroded. Sidek had cited the case where a helicopter was used to pick up 36 packs of nasi ganja here in July last year.

On July 23, 2021, the helicopter, which was only permitted to cross state borders for maintenance work, was seen picking up 36 packets of nasi ganja after it landed at Ipoh Padang.
