Nancy says hassle-free Malaysia is a post-Covid destination of choice

Nancy says in 2019, Malaysia welcomed more than 1.8 million arrivals from Thailand, almost 70% of which were repeat travellers. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, July 18, 2022.

She said this included the further easing of standard operating procedures on May 1, so fully vaccinated travellers, including children, were no longer required to take pre-departure and on-arrival Covid-19 tests. Nancy said Malaysia was currently promoting Malacca – a Unesco World Heritage site – to further boost arrivals from Thailand.Nancy added that in 2019, Malaysia welcomed more than 1.8 million arrivals from Thailand, and almost 70% of Thai tourists were repeat travellers who came to Malaysia for holiday, shopping, and to visit friends and relatives.

“We are not only close to each other as neighbouring countries, but Malaysia is also a value-for-money destination,” she said.
