Najib’s SRC International trial begins Wednesday

Former prime minister Najib Razak's SRC International trial, initially slated to be held from February 12 to March 29, was put on hold twice after the Court of Appeal, on February 11 and March 21, granted a stay of proceedings pending related appeals. – The Malaysian Insight pic by Nazir Sufari, April 1, 2019.

THE prosecution will commence its case against former prime minister Najib Razak over SRC International Sdn Bhd funds on Wednesday, with three witnesses expected to testify. The date was set following the Federal Court’s decision to lift the stay of proceedings order granted by the Court of Appeal to Najib, which he applied for on February 8 to stall the trial pending the disposal of his appeals over interlocutory matters.
