“I’m glad that our beloved party, Umno, as per the president’s speech earlier, is steadfast in demanding justice for my father,” she said when met on the sidelines of the Umno general assembly at the World Trade Centre here. Nooryana said her father’s “aura” faded after he was incarcerated and this was seen with his absence during the party’s campaign in the general election last November.
She reiterated that her father was not given due justice in his final appeal for the SRC International corruption case at the Federal Court last year. “We now have to get ready for a review of the judgment, which will begin on Jan 19,” she said.In his presidential speech earlier, Zahid acknowledged Najib’s role as one of the main factors that Umno and BN received growing support from the people after the coalition’s downfall in 2018.
