The Libaran parliamentary seat houses the Sungai Sibuga State constituency, where Musa was incumbent for six terms. However, Sabah Umno Treasurer Datuk Suhaimi Nasir is also eyeing the seat. Suhaimi is a nominated assemblyman as well as Libaran division chief.Musa did not contest in the 2020 state election but helped in the campaigning.
