The report states that all 16 charges were under Section 4 of the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing Act 2001 which upon conviction, carries a jail term of up to 15 years and a fine no less than five times the amount of illegal proceeds or RM5 million, whichever is higher. The Sungai Sibuga assemblyman had then, also pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court when the charges proffered under Subsection 11 of the Anti-Corruption Act 1997 was read out to him.
