“Saya tanya Muhyiddin berkali-kali, ‘adakah awak sanggup ? Dulu awak berperang dengan mereka. Dia jawab saya sanggup kerana bagi saya politik lebih utama berbanding prinsip’. Muhyiddin mengangkat sumpah sebagai perdana menteri ke-8 pada 1 Mac lalu selepas negara berdepan kemelut kepemimpinan politik susulan peletakkan jawatan Mahathir pada 24 Februari yang turut menyaksikan kerajaan PH hilang kuasa dan digantikan oleh gabungan politik baru, Perikatan Nasional .
“Tidak benar saya letak jawatan, saya terpaksa digugurkan kerana PPBM keluar PH dan PH tidak lagi jadi kerajaan,” katanya.
