MTUC slams firms ‘abandoning’ foreign workers, forcing pay cuts

THE Malaysian Trades Union Congress has received more than 300 complaints from retrenched workers as management moves to slash operating cost. Companies are targeting foreign workers, said MTUC secretary-general J. Solomon, urging Putrajaya to look into their plight. MTUC: Criminalise retrenchment for nowCORONAVIRUS | Employees in the RM4,000 to RM8,000 category are not covered by the wage subsidy scheme, and they risk being laid off.
