BUTTERWORTH: A PAS lawmaker has been taken to task for ticking off a mall over its Chinese New Year beer promotion at its premises in Seberang Jaya here.

The move by Permatang Pauh MP Muhammad Fawwaz Muhammad Jan has not gone down well with many quarters, with Pengkalan Kota assemblyman Daniel Gooi describing him as overstepping his jurisdiction by “assuming the role of moral police”.

On Monday, Fawwaz, who is also Penang PAS Youth chief, marched into Sunway Carnival Mall to demand the promoter conceal the sale of beer at the central atrium out of respect for the sensitivity of Muslims in the area. Penang Warisan chairman Jeff Ooi said premises permitted to sell liquor are regulated by the Customs Department and local councils.

“We are only requesting that the management take initiatives to not sell it openly, and we have found solutions.

Why you want them to sell the beer inside the toilet?

Does your faith are so shallow that just by seeing at something make u lost your way?

I agree with the beer sampling and cocktail mixing. That’s just bad taste to have that open where kids walk by. But not having a single beer can seen? That’s some next level subjugation

Muslim and kids not allowed to go in also

Wait what What's wrong with that

....Don't you have anything better to do? also please start educate our people lah. See can of beer also want hoo-haa like it can kill you, LEMAH!

That’s why PAS doesn’t work for Multi Race Malaysia. Not only the Ringgit will be down to sh!t, the nation will be destroyed by civil wars - economical and social amongst Races.

Well doing it under cover is definitely better than closing it down totally. In the spirit of muhibbah and keharmonian, perhaps for PAS-dominant areas to segregate malls into Muslim and non-Muslim malls?

Org nak raya la lebai oit. Politik sampai tak ketahwan masa ni. Banyak benda lain lg yg patut amik tau. Org gila tepi jalan, org gelendangan dan mcm2 lg. Tp tu la yg tu tak dpt mileage politik pulak kan

Ini teknik “nampak mcm function tapi tak function”

Hypocrites in robes

PAS only knows how to conduct moral policing

Why not try to close kfc and mcdonald also?

Better you go kampong take a look at the kampong folks. Help them..promote your study on health, childcare, children health, personal hygiene...

He's answerable to his constituents.

That’s the nature of democracy. Tyranny of the majority. He was voted by the people there and he represented their will

Just closed down the mall for kowtow to this pas fellow ..

Meanwhile PAS has no idea on anything else. Just walking around telling people how to live. Pity they don't go around telling pple that to rape children n force them to marry is still rape.

Perhaps that is what pematangpauh voters wanted, right? PASPusat

this kinda of guys we shouldn't even trust... wearing such *-£-£((. hypocrite. they should govern their own backyard first too much clean.

Why burden others with your weaknesses? Aren't we ashame of ourselves for not being able to control our urges & instead of self improvement, we tell others not to display it? Who's the inferior person here? Stop it. You are doing more harm than good on the whole!

Y go there if so sensitive?

Wow my hero jaga tepi kain thanks for your bravery telling others how to respect you.
