More than 4,400 complaints on open burning

The public should not to carry out open burning as it could worsen the current smoke situation, warns the Department of Environment. – EPA pic, September 23, 2019.

THE Department of Environment has received 4,409 complaints on open burning from January until September 22 this year. Its director-general, Norlin Jaafar, said out of this figure, 1,152 warnings were issued to the perpetrators while court action was taken against 22.
