PETALING JAYA: The Klang Valley has logged a little over 1,000 new Covid-19 cases, which make up a large majority of the 2,331 cases recorded nationwide in the latest daily figures, says Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

Of the states, Selangor led with 751 new cases and Kuala Lumpur was third with 252 cases for a total of 1,003 yesterday.In Selangor, 623 cases were linked to clusters or identified from close contact tracing of active Covid-19 patients.Four of the new clusters were from workplaces, three from schools and education institutions, and one was a community cluster.

Sarawak’s Ulu Balingian cluster in Selangau and Jalan Disa cluster in Sibu were linked to schools or education institutions. The Jalan Maktab cluster – spanning Sepang and Hulu Langat in Selangor as well as Putrajaya – was also linked to schools and education institutions.
