As at 11.59pm on Wednesday, the daily booster shots administered in Penang had soared to 6,865. Two weeks ago, an average of 1,419 doses were dispensed.
It was earlier reported that those eligible for booster shots can now apply to be on the walk-in waiting list at any one of the 86 Covid-19 vaccine dispensing centres in Penang. Housewife Semeha Md Udin, 63, said she would not be influenced by some of her friends who were still taking a ‘wait and see’ approach.
“I took half-day off for this purpose. I am a diabetic and worried that my immune system will be low against the virus,” he said.
