KOTA KINABALU: More military personnel will be deployed to assist police in enforcing the movement control order (MCO) in Sabah from Friday (April 3).

Outgoing commander of the Fifth Infantry Division, Leftenan-Jeneral Datuk Mohamad Khir Abdullah said as the first batch of armed forces personnel goes off duty for a new group to replace them in the second phase of the MCO, more military personnel will also come in.

He said more than 700 armed forces personnel from the land, sea and air forces will be on hand to assist police. He said they will continue giving their full cooperation and assistance to the police wherever needed. As for how many assets they were ready to deploy to assist the police during the MCO, he said it will be up to necessity.
