There were only a hundred evacuees when floods started in parts of the state including at the Beaufort and Tenom districts on Tuesday .
According to the state Civil Defence Department, evacuees from 733 households are now at temporary shelters in Tenom and Beaufort.Meanwhile rescue and evacuations by various agencies including the Civil Defence Force along with the Fire and Rescue Department are ongoing.On other matters, over 20 schools in these districts remain closed as floods have yet to recede.Meanwhile SK Mandalom in Tenom, is being used as a temporary shelter for flood victims.
State Education Department director Datuk Mistirine Radin had said earlier that physical classes would only resume once floods have receded and cleaning works are complete.
