PUTRAJAYA: More police personnel will be on duty to ensure the total lockdown to be enforced from June 1-14 is adhered to, says Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.

He said that 55,000 police personnel will now be deployed to man roadblocks as well as to ensure standard operating procedure compliance.“We will also rope in 15,000 personnel from other enforcement agencies under the ministry such as the Immigration Department, Rela, Escomm, the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency and the Malaysian Border Security Agency to also be on duty during this lockdown period, ” he said on Saturday .

Hamzah also said that the number of roadblocks will be upped to about 800 nationwide during the period from the existing 600 roadblocks.
