MMEA rescues 7 crewmen from burning yacht in Langkawi

THE Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency rescued seven crew members from a yacht that caught fire while anchored about 0.6 nautical miles northeast of Pulau Singa Kecil this morning.

Kedah and Perlis MMEA director Maritime First Admiral Mohd Zawawi Abdullah said the fire was detected by a patrol vessel KM Tenggol, which then channelled the information to the Langkawi Maritime Rescue Sub Centre at 8.18am today.
