PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Indian Transformation Unit (Mitra) will implement a targeted socio-economic development programme involving 72 parliamentary constituencies in 38 districts with high Indian community density through an allocation of RM7.2mil.

Its special task force committee chairman Datuk R. Ramanan said each MP will receive RM100,000 to implement programmes such as human capital, entrepreneurship and career or social and welfare, spirituality, and well-being developments.

“There is the Aircraft Maintenance Licence Programme, which gives opportunities to 100 B40 Indian youths. "It is in collaboration with Weststar Aviation Services with RM5.5mil allocated for this purpose," he said at a press conference on Friday .
