After a near wipeout in two past elections, the oldest Indian-based party says it will contest its traditional 9 parliamentary and 18 state seats. FMTNews MIC GE15

MIC deputy president M Saravanan says the party does not have ambitious plans for electoral seats.

Instead, the MIC, Malaysia’s oldest and largest Indian-based political party, would evaluate the current situation before making any decision on electoral seats. In the 2018 general election, MIC won one out of nine parliamentary seats and three out of 18 state seats that it contested. The one parliamentary seat it won was in Tapah, where Saravanan is MP.
