THE Menu Rahmah initiative to offer meals for only RM5 at selected food outlets should be a temporary solution and Putrajaya must find other ways to boost the economy and improve wages, economists said. They said that while it was a good initiative the programme needs to be integrated with other measures to contain the high cost of living especially on food prices and the government should also look into increasing wages.

Of course its not a long term solution. Its just to show that it can be done to reduce the price of the foods. Its not impossible at all as people thought.

No one said it was a long-term solution. Long term solutions are supposed to come from economists, instead of just stating facts. It’s like asking ‘where am I’ and the economist answers “you’re standing on the ground”. It’s correct but meaningless. 🤣
utk bantu kurangkan kos sara hidup rakyat yg sgt tinggi skrg, mohon gomen ph-bn turunkan kadar toll, turunkan harga petrol, turunkan kadar elektrik, hapuskan kadar air, hapuskan yuran persekolahan rendah & menengah, buat harga rahmah utk makanan asas di pasaraya, dll!!!
The best solutions is to scrap the religious schools and stop producing so many religious goons as career who believe praying is the best solution where money will drop from the sky. Lol

It is a start. We can learn from Sweden. The government issue tax refund which one of it is by issuing meal voucher. The meal voucher will fix the lunch value and the restaurants will offer daily lunch menu at the fixed price in order to get the meal vouchers.
Kalau mcm tu, ahli ekonomi patut sukarela bantu kerajaan. Demi bantu rakyat.
So the best solution from these economists is to raise the minimum wage ? That's dandy, because then anybody can be an economists if that is the solution🤷 We're never short of criticism or opinions but never a solution 🤦

Of course it is not THE solution. But it provides relief to the needy currently. Economic recovery takes some time you know. What kid of economists say things like this. Must be rich ones lah🙄

This is a short term measure to stabilised the current situation.
I finally understood why the government is pushing for Menu Rahman.. it’s to provide immediate assistance the poor and to “educate” the rich, to understand what is priced “reasonably”. Now every time we go out and spend eating out ..pergh tu boleh bagi makan kat 10 orang..!
At least they are doing their best, it's only 3 months,I'm positive they have a long term plan, we'll better than the previous goons/theives who ran the country , and suggestions from your so called'learned' ppl, send in Yr suggestions don't criticism only

At least , it lessen the burden of certain segment in the society. Many more initiatives needed to address our high cost of living .

It wud b a great score if Govt can actually get prices of goods down which wud gv direct benefit d ppl, n then force eateries 2 do d same.
Don’t just only critic’s. Give solution you dump. This is gov short term initiative for lower-middle income. Our Gov just only 3 months plus, give them a space and time.
It helps the affected rakyat More solutions will come out in due time
