Dalam pembacaan Injil hari ini menyatakan tentang kesaksian Yohanes Pembaptis mengenai Yesus Kristus,Yohanes melihat pembaptisan Yesus sebagai permulaan misi penyelamatan-Nya di dunia. Tuhan telah memilih Yohanes pembaptis untuk memperkenalkan Yesus sebagai Anak Domba Tuhan penghapus dosa dunia. Roh turun atas Yesus dan tinggal pada-Nya.
Kita dituntut untuk menghidupi panggilan hidup Kristian kita dan mengambil bahagian dalam pengorbanan dan kematian Yesus supaya kita memperoleh kehidupan kekal. Melalui kesaksian iman kita, semoga mereka yang masih hidup dalam kegelapan dapat diterangi oleh Kristus yang tinggal di dalam kita. “Engkaulah hamba-Ku, Israel, oleh mu Aku akan menyatakan keagungan-Ku…Aku akan membuat engkau menjadi terang bagi bangsa-bangsa supaya keselamatan karya-Ku sampai ke hujung bumi,”
