Melaka Umno ready for state election if assembly dissolved, says state Umno chief

State Umno chief Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said it was now in the hands of Mohd Ali to decide on the fate of the state assembly.Chief Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali, who is also from Umno, has recommended for the assembly to be dissolved.

Ab Rauf, who is also Melaka state assembly speaker, said Umno will continue to strengthen its machinery despite two of its assemblymen having exited Sulaiman’s government. Earlier, Umno's Sungai Udang assemblyman Datuk Seri Idris Haron and three other state lawmakers have declared that they have lost confidence in the leadership of Sulaiman.

The three others are Pantai Kundor assemblyman Datuk Nor Azman Hassan , Telok Mas assemblyman Noor Effandi Ahmad from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia and Independent lawmaker Datuk Norhizam Hassan Baktee.
