MELAKA: One of the oldest places of worship in Malaysia, the Cheng Hoon Temple at Jalan Tukang Emas here, will be hosting a talk by Josephine Chua, the great-granddaughter of illustrious Chinese Kapitan, Chua Su Cheong.

The temple's cultural sub-committee head Jason Tseng said the talk will be held at 10am on Saturday at the temple’s Teng Choo Hall.

The temple is one of the oldest religious structures in Malaysia, after the ruins in the Bujang Valley in Kedah."We hope locals could attend the talk to appreciate the history," he said in an interview on Wednesday . An inscription inside the temple in Mandarin reads:"Bukit Cina is the place where early traders from China were buried. Many Chinese traders came here with high expectations of success.
