MASJID TANAH: Casting his vote at Sekolah Kebangsaan Jeram was a nostalgic experience, says state Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Md Yusoh.

"I was enrolled here in 1967 - when I was in Standard One. It only had a nipah ceiling and bare ground for a floor then. Today the school is among the top schools in this area," said Ab Rauf, who is Barisan's Tanjung Bidara candidate.

He added that he is thankful for all the contributions from the government to provide students with a comfortable environment to study. "So, when I look back to what I learned from this institution for my early education I will give back to the people of Masjid Tanah, especially Tanjung Bidara," said Ab Rauf.Ab Rauf is in a three cornered fight against Perikatan Nasional candidate Datuk Mas Ermieyatie Samsudin - who is the coalition's chief minister designate - and Pakatan Harapan's Zainal Hassan.

The state election is being held following the dissolution of the state assembly after four assemblymen announced that they have lost their confidence in the chief minister's leadership.
