The state Health director said that the department has yet to receive any sudden leave application from its contract medical officers for dates where the strike is expected to take place from April 3 and 5."We are controlling the situation and we have informed our directors and management to make sure that their officers turn up to work.
"We give our assurance to the people that services in Johor's medical facilities will run as usual," he said when asked to comment on the Mogok Doktor Malaysia group.He said this to reporters when met after conducting checks on a Ramadan bazaar at the Angsana mall here.Mogok Doktor Malaysia told to be mindful of consequences over threat to strike"We will first advise them and if they still fail to adhere, disciplinary actions will be taken," he said.
The group took to social media to call on contract doctors to take emergency or medical leave from April 3 to April 5 as a sign of protest.ALSO READ:Ling said that there is still room for discussion between contract doctors and the Health Ministry."Although it is not under the power of the state government, I am always open to listen to the plight of the contract doctors and put forward their hopes to the ministry.
"I believe and am confident that contract doctors' hearts are with the people and they would still want to help their patients. Whatever it is, we can still discuss it," he said.
