PETALING JAYA: A total of 586 people were issued compounds while 53 others were remanded for movement control order violations on Saturday (May 15).

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said among the violations committed were failure to provide entry log or equipment , not wearing face masks , not observing physical distancing , entertainment outlet activities , gambling , and unapproved interstate/interdistrict travel .

“They checked 3,957 supermarkets, 4,642 restaurants, 1,961 factories, 3,620 banks, 707 government offices, and 1,774 hawkers. Meanwhile, under Ops Benteng, he said five foreigners were arrested on Saturday with two vehicles seized, adding that 481 roadblocks were also conducted nationwide.
