KOTA KINABALU: Disciplinary action will be taken against the police officer, who was videotaped whipping people caught for defying the movement control order in Kunak district, say Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Zaini Jass .

DCP Zaini said although the officer had no intention of hurting the teenagers, his action was not in line with the standard operating procedure and could negatively affect the image of the police force."We need to address and take action against him," he told a press conference on Friday .The teens laugh until one of them is hit a few more times.

Many who have viewed the video described the action as"appropriate" and might result in better compliance with the MCO.He said they continued to loiter, smoke and laugh even after being told a few times to leave, and that was why the officer resorted to a more drastic action. On another matter, he said police had arrested 135 people for violating the MCO as of April 2.Seven people were released on court bail, while 28 were let off without conditions.

This stupid gov is messy. Suprised how we are going to survive this pandemic.

aiyah.. can see the teens are all used to it already lah.. just reprimand the officer not to do tahfiz style anymore and give the boys community service hours for breaking MCO

This is why millenial generations are called snowflakes. They need to learn that, if they did something wrong there will be a punishment. If the higher authority punished the officer it'll only give these kids a wrong impression on pdrm. You can do better than this PDRM.

This will encourage more people to against law/police.

Spare him naughty teens need to be wiped!

Just just take action towards the teens & their family not the police officer please... The Police Officer had done the right thing due to MCO & not simply whipped without any reason...

Lembik. Itu pasal rakyat naik kepala.

I agree. Action needs to be taken against the police officer. Give him a medal and a promotion. He's a hero.

Come on Dato....dont scapegoating your hardworking officer just to please few idiots politician. Those stubborn teenager need flying kick to learn simple instruction.

Right thing to do!

PDRM, We should use our parental drecretion as long as Not too violent! Spare the Rod Will Spoil the Child! Making fun, smoking, arogant stubborness should Not be Tolerated their age...Save them before too late!

Why action against the police. The deserved the canning. Charge the teenager and their parents. If you're going to charge the police for disciplining the idiots. Then charge the ghost also. After all he's also violation of MCO

I disagree if you take action against the police officer... He did the right thing!!!! Can't you see it?

small issue lar. no need to take any action Just a brotherly whip to deter the kids loitering out & to keep them safe from Covid19 at home. let move on.

Bengong.

Due to MCO of poorly thought out execution..its taking a toll on both civilians n the police..Filipina Presiden has gone bonkers in contemplating shooting order..chedetofficial anwaribrahim guanenglim hannahyeoh fahmi_fadzil WHO

If action are to be taken on those policeman.. We might as well scrap this MCO

action against the teens and their parent la PDRMsia MKNJPM MINDEFMalaysia your action is supporting those negligence!!!!

Come to think of it, the policeman was doing his job. On the spot caning is so much more effective & efficient than resource wasting court cases and jail term. Just look that idiot woman who shouted at our men in blue. She should be caned like those teenagers.

just rottan & teach them a lesson. what's the big deal.

Why take action against these overworked policeman. PDRMsia this officer used his discretion so that the prison will not be full of these type of idiots. Should applaud this officer actions. Some country shoot to kill those disrespect CMO. AGCPutrajaya PMOMalaysia kkmm_gov

aioo... ..action against the teen lah ooi

Action should be taken against the parents of the teenagers not tye police officers

May I ask how would you want your officers to treat stubborn and rude people like this? If by caning can help teach them so be it. The government asked us to stay at home and Police and ATM have been deployed to enforce it. We count on you by all means.

Please don't. The police officer was just doing his job. Those stupid teens earned every stroke of the cane, and more.
