Comms minister Fahmi Fadzil has informed Dewan Rakyat today that the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission is collaborating with five major telcos to introduce Parental Control Tools. This initiative aims to help parents monitor and manage their children's online activities.

Fahmi's statement came as a reply to a question posed by Kamal Ashaari on the ministry's method to ensure that those under the age of 15 are banned from having social media accounts, with the intention of preventing them from following bad trends. According to him, the Parental Control Tools will provide parents with the ability to filter, limit and even block online content viewed by their children.
