Mayat berserakan, tercampak dari balkoni

Beirut: Bencana akibat letupan di Beirut diibaratkan umpama 'hari kiamat' dan menyebabkan hampir 300,000 orang hilang tempat tinggal.Gabenor Beirut, Marwan Abboud berkata, impak kemusnahan yang berlaku sama seperti kesan gempa bumi dengan ribuan penduduk kini membanjiri hospital untuk rawatan.

"Ia seperti pembunuhan beramai-ramai. Saya melihat orang menjerit, berlumuran darah, rumah musnah, kaca bertaburan, jalan raya umpama apa yang berlaku di Hiroshima atau dilanda tsunami," kata Elie Zakaria yang menetap di Mar Mikhail terletak berhampiran pelabuhan berkenaan kepada AFP. Katanya, dia melihat mayat berserakan di tengah jalan, dipercayai tercampak dari balkoni dan bumbung akibat letupan itu.Ramai orang menonton dan membuat rakaman dengan telefon mereka selepas terdengar letupan lebih awal dan lebih kecil di pelabuhan itu.

Ribuan keluarga mula keluar dari Beirut untuk menyelamatkan diri, namun masih ada sebilangan besar yang terkandas dan tiada tempat untuk dituju.Hospital di bandar berkenaan juga kini berdepan episod mencemaskan apabila terpaksa menolak mangsa kejadian letupan kerana wad dipenuhi pesakit Covid-19.
