Presiden Matta Tan Kok Liang berkata, kajian menunjukkan industri pelancongan akan pulih jauh lebih perlahan berbanding sektor lain susulan wabak Covid-19. FMTNews Koronavirus

Kerajaan menganggarkan industri pelancongan dan budaya mengalami kerugian bernilai RM45 bilion dan kira-kira 1 juta hilang pekerjaan tahun ini.

Matta menerusi kenyataan hari ini berkata, industri pelancongan dan perjalanan terjejas teruk akibat pandemik Covid-19 dan kajian menunjukkan ia hanya akan pulih daripada krisis semasa jauh lebih perlahan daripada sektor lain dalam ekonomi Malaysia. “Ramai peserta pelancongan mengalami kemerosotan pendapatan sejak Mac 2020 susulan kemelesetan dan pengangguran.

Beliau berkata, ketidakmampuan industri untuk membayar semula pinjaman mereka disebabkan oleh peraturan yang ketat dan permintaan lemah.
