KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Disaster Management Committee's fleet of 244 vehicles is readily available for logistics use for Covid-19 matters across the state, says Datuk Masidi Manjun.

The state Local Government and Housing Minister said from this, 63 have been utilised to transport Covid-19 patients.

"Meanwhile, 12 vehicles are being used to make food basket deliveries to targeted locations, and the remaining 169 vehicles of various types are ready to be used when needed," he said in a statement on Sunday ."Out of the 311 cases, 102 are from close contact screenings in the districts of Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Penampang and Tawau.

"At present, Covid-19 hospitals have a combined capacity of 1,007 beds and 5,569 beds in low-risk quarantine and treatment centres state-wide. "The occupancy Sunday is at 36.27%," said Masidi when giving the daily Covid-19 developments in the state.

Redeployment of resources should be made to Selangor and KL. A densely populated area with the highest cases of covid currently. The economy is opened and employees still go to offices and sites with no guarantee of SOP adherence.
