KLANG: A married couple suspected of supplying guns to an Israeli man who was arrested last month were charged in the Sessions Court here today with committing firearms offences.
The charge, under Section 8 of the Firearms Act 1971, provides for a maximum jail term of 14 years and at least six strokes of whipping on conviction. The charge, under Section 9 of the same Act, is punishable with the same penalties for unlawful possession of firearms.Deputy public prosecutors Mohammad Fakhrurrazi Ahmad Salim and Fazeedah Faik did not offer bail because offences under the Act are not bailable.The court fixed June 11 this year for mention.
