Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat said the incident occurred at 2.30am on Monday when a police patrol team was conducting surveillance under Ops Tapis Khas.“The team spotted three individuals behaving in a suspicious manner and believed they were involved in drug activities at a parking lot near Jalan Ungku Puan," he said in a statement.
ACP Raub said police approached them to carry out an inspection before one of the suspects stabbed the back of a police constable during a scuffle.“The suspect managed to escape as the rest of the team were inspecting the other two men. "The injured personnel is receiving treatment at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital and currently in a stable condition," he said.
ACP Raub said the case would be investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt. Police are now looking for a man who was last seen wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, black jeans, a pair of slippers, a black snowcap and a black face mask.
