The 66-year-old Kembara driver was confirmed dead at the scene, while the 71-year-old woman passenger sustained serious injuries.The District Fire and Rescue Station received a call at 11.46am and five members led by operation commander Shahril Sulaiman were dispatched to the scene.
The victim’s body was successfully removed from the wreckage by firemen and handed to the police for further action, while the injured was sent to Tenom Hospital by a MOH ambulance before the firemen arrived.The operation ended at 1.17pm after ensuring that the situation no longer posed danger.
