GEORGE TOWN: The body of the 24-year-old man who fell off the Penang Bridge on Thursday (Oct 7) has been found near the Swettenham Pier here.

Penang Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency director Capt Abd Razak Mohamed said they received a call at about 9.30am on Saturday from a passer-by who found the body.

Capt Abd Razak said the body was taken to the Batu Uban police marine jetty and police have confirmed that it was the individual who fell off the Penang Bridge on Thursday. He thanked the Fire and Rescue Department and Batu Uban marine police for helping the MMEA in the operation.
