KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested a man for owning a police reflective vest with the rank of police commissioner embedded on it.

The suspect was arrested Sunday at the Jinjang police station, according to city police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim.

"The rank tab had been ordered from a tailor in Gombak and the suspect, who had used the vest for a religious function in Taman Wahyu, had done so on the invitation of the association secretary staying in the same area. Comm Mazlan added that it was an offence to own, sell or supply police equipment and uniforms under the Minor Offences Act 1955.
