KLANG: A 35-year-old man was detained for slapping a supermarket cashier over a misunderstanding involving the packing of goods.

The suspect's wife had bought some items at the outlet on Monday night and due to the nearing closing time, the cashier had packed the items in a rush.

North Klang OCPD Asst Comm Nurulhuda Mohd Salleh said the wife told the suspect what had occurred and the suspect subsequently went into the supermarket and slapped the cashier."A team from North Klang then detained the suspect at his home in Klang at about 8.30pm on Tuesday ," she said Wednesday . ACP Nurulhuda said the suspect, who is a lorry driver, had a criminal record with four past crime and drug offences.

"He has since been released on police bail. We will refer the investigation paper to the Deputy Public Prosecutor ," she said.
