PETALING JAYA: Authorities have been urged to an incident where a man allegedly drowned three cats in a washing machine at a self-service launderette in Kepong.

Quoting Malaysian Animal Association president Arie Dwi Andika, the report added that a woman found the dead cats when she opened one of the washing machines there.

"The woman made a police report at the Taman Ehsan police station for quick action to be taken by the authorities," she toldA video recording showing the man putting the three cats inside the washing machine has also spread online.In November last year, three suspects were accused of placing a cat into a dryer at a self-service laundry in Taman Gombak Ria, Batu Caves on Sept 11, 2018.

K. Ganesh, 42, was sentenced to 34 months' jail and fined RM40,000, in default four months in prison. A. Mohanraj, 42, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two years' jail, while SS Satthiya, 26, received a discharge not amounting to an acquittal.
