KUALA LUMPUR: A 37-year-old man was killed following an accident along the MRR2 near the Bandar Tasik Selatan exit on Wednesday (March 17).

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Asst Comm Zulkefly Yahya said the driver of a Proton Persona is believed to have lost control of the vehicle before hitting the side of another car in the next lane and slamming against a flyover pillar at about 5.40am.

"The victim's vehicle caught fire and he died at the scene due to severe injuries to his head and internal organs.The victim has been identified as Ong Woei Yiap from Taman Desa, Kluang in Johor, he added. "The body was pulled out from the wreckage by firemen. His body has been sent to the hospital for a post-mortem," ACP Zulkefly said.
