PETALING JAYA: A Malaysian nurse has died in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, but her cause of death has yet to be confirmed.

Nor Afizah Mohd Salleh, 48, a nurse who was working at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Madinah, had just been transferred from the Riyadh branch when she died.

Her cause of death as posted on social media by friends – some of whom are medical personnel – was from a pulmonary embolism .Kelab Rakyat Malaysia di Riyadh , a group of Malaysian citizens working in Riyadh, posted that Nor Afizah passed away at 11.30am Saturday . "We received the sad news that a Malaysian who works as a nurse at King Faisal Hospital and moved to Madinah Nor Afizah Mohd Salleh, 48, from Gelang Patah, Johor, has just passed away at the Saudi German Hospital in Madinah.Along with her photograph it was also stated that her cause of death was a pulmonary embolism.

Nor Afizah's sisters, Norhuda and Shida Mohd Salleh from Gelang Patah, Johor, also posted about their her death on Facebook."You were a very good daughter and the best sister... Now, you are gone and will never return," said Norhuda. Dean, a male senior nurse in Saudi Arabia, posted that a Malaysian nurse who had just been transferred to the King Faisal Hospital in Madinah from Riyadh had died from Covid-19-related complications.The Star has contacted Wisma Putra for further details.
