Malaysian manufacturers repeat call for single ministry to manage foreign workers | The Malaysian Insight

The Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers suggests a single government agency handles the entire foreign worker employment process from end-to-end via a single online system with no carve-outs of processing to third party service providers. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, January 6, 2023.

“It would be imperative that a single agency handles the entire foreign worker employment process from end-to-end via a single online system with no carve-outs of processing to third party service providers,” Soh said in a statement today. The FMM also acknowledged Home Affairs Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail’s assurance that the ministry will be the “main custodian” in the management of foreign workers while the Human Resources Ministry’s role will be in the area of labour policy, determining foreign worker quota and finalising agreements with source countries.
