Malaysian Bar calls for fairer process after Penangite cleared of maid’s murder

THE Malaysian Bar today proposed a committee should decide on representation procedures where lawyers seek charge withdrawals or plead to lesser offences. This comes in the wake of the court’s controversial decision to withdraw the murder charge from an employer over the abuse and death of a young Indonesian maid in Penang.
