Malaysian author K.S. Maniam, who helped shape local literature, dies at 78

(1995) are regarded as important contributions to the Malaysian performing arts canon.On the academic front, Maniam worked in the English department of Universiti Malaya as a lecturer (from 1980-1985) and associate professor (1986-1997). In 2000, Maniam became the inaugural recipient of India’s Raja Rao Award for outstanding contribution to the literature of the South Asian diaspora.
